We hope this FAQ answers any questions you may have about Driftland, but if there's anything else you'd like to know then please contact us.

Driftland is located at the Lochgelly Motorsport Complex in Fife, Scotland, just 20 minutes drive from Edinburgh airport, surrounded by excellent transport links for bus, train and car to the rest of the country. Our postcode for satnav is KY5 9HG.

Entry for drivers will vary in price depending on the specifics of the event, although our normal drift day price will be £50 + a booking fee. Spectator entry is £10 per person, under 16s are £5 and under 12s go free! The V.I.P. parking area is an additional £5 per car.
At present there are no hire cars available, however we are looking into offering this in the future.

If you have to ask how much an operation like this costs to implement then take that as an indication that it's out of your budget!

Initially the track will only be open for specified events such as practice days, experience days or arrive and drive karting. Check our Facebook page for more details on upcoming events.
All tickets for events will be available through the Driftland booking system, and all events will be announced via Facebook and Twitter.
All drivers must wear helmets, long sleeved tops and full length trousers.
Ideally yes, from 1st January 2015 you will only need to present your photocard driving license, until then you will be required to show both parts (photocard and paper counterpart) during driver sign on for insurance purposes. Failure to do so may mean that you are not allowed on track.
 
If you do not hold a full UK license then for a fee of £36 you can have your driving assessed by one of our instructors, and you will be presented with a 2016 season Driftland Driver's Licence. It is a physical credit card style licence and we will require you to allow us to take a small photograph to be printed on the licence. The licence will be valid for all 2016 events. We will run dedicated ‘matsuri’ style events for drifters who want to run the wall, and practice proximity driving in practice or ‘missile’ cars.

To apply for media accreditation at Driftland (which will entitle you to trackside access and other areas out of bounds to the general public) you will need to provide us with the following:

  • A minimum of £1 million of Public Liability Insurance coverage valid on the date of the event you wish to attend, a copy of which must be e-mailed to us prior to the event.
  • References of your work and where it has been published (online and/or in print).

Should you be successful in your application you will be assigned one of thirty Driftland Media Vests - these are individually numbered and a £10 refundable deposit is required when you sign on in the morning before the media briefing.
You must attend the media briefing or you will not be permitted trackside access on the day. Should you be unable to attend the media briefing on the morning of the event then you must contact us to arrange a briefing when you do arrive.
Yes, but ONLY if it has a roll bar or cage that meets our safety specifications. Please see the Track Rules & Safety page for more information and contact us if you have any queries.
